Dog Training

Woof & Purr proudly serves the dogs (and dog parents) of Vancouver’s downtown West End neighbourhood, Coal Harbour and Yaletown.

We are pet first aid certified, and licensed, bonded and insured with Profur Insurance, and are a certified dog trainer, graduating from DogStars dog training academy.

Whether you have a new pup that needs basic obedience, wish to improve recall and ability to follow commands from a distance, or whether you have a fearful / anxious / reactive dog we can help.

We’re a graduate of Georgina Bradley’s Dog Stars Dog Training Academy, and specialize in positive reinforcement training techniques. We conduct basic obedience, advanced obedience (recall), tricks and desensitization training.

We work with our clients 1:1 to achieve best result, and we come to you.

How it works

1. Contact us by phone or email

We’ll want to know information like:

• The breed and age of your dog.
• What your goals are for training, and what behaviours you’d like to work on.
• How often you’d like us to conduct training, and what dates/times work for you.

2. Meet & Greet

We’ll arrange a convenient time to meet you and your pup to see what your dog already knows, and what behaviours you’re planning to work on. From there, we’ll make a plan with you. This will take about 45 to 60 minutes.

3. Conduct training

We’ll meet you at your place, or a park that works for you and your pup to conduct our training sessions.

4. Provide payment

We accept e-transfer, cash, or cheque. First time clients are required to pay up front (in advance). Repeat clients in good standing will be billed weekly and payment is due immediately upon receiving your bill.
